7 weeks!

Its hard to believe that just 6 months ago Luke and I were going to dinner for my Birthday and after dinner he got down on one knee and proposed in our living room....even harder to believe that just 9 months ago I was in a walking boot after foot surgery and Luke and I were moving him here into that tiny little apt.... :)
And now, as of yesterday, in 7 weeks we will be MARRIED.
You know, I was watching one of those wedding shows on TV and these girls were so hell bent on making their wedding an experience of a lifetime for the guests, "wedding of the century" and what have you...in reality, the REAL point of the wedding is to share that moment with your loved ones. Thats the philosophy Luke and I have gone by with planning our wedding. Nothing fancy, not a huge party, no loud music or big sit down dinner...SHaring our special day with our family and friends, eat some cake, visit and laugh and see everyone. Then Luke and I are leaving, as a married couple and going to go sit in the mountains for a week and jsut relax. Thats the description of my dream wedding day. Thats the description of what Luke and I have tried to plan. Laid back, calm, sweet, personal and US. And I can't wait! andI  cant BELIEVE its 7 weeks away!
THis time we've had being engaged has been some of the best months of my life. Knowing this man loves ME so much he's ready to spend the rest of his life, devoted to ME and the feeling of knowing that I feel the same way. ITs indescribable, and those who dont have that in their relationship are REALLY lacking.
Every now and then I get a little down when I hear what people are buying, expensive homes and furniture and cards etc...when there would be NO way for us to afford half of it, but then I take a step back and think, we may not be able to afford a $300,000 home or a $50,000 vehicle, thats ok! It's ok because Luke and I have a wonderful healthy, happy relationship and as long as we have THAT we have so much more than any one of those people who are living up to 'the Jones's'...
Im a happy, blessed girl.
Ive the love of a wonderful man. I have the most loving and beautiful friends. I have family who supports me and loves me no matter what I decide, unconditionally.
And in 7 weeks I will have a husband :)

Blessed time in our lives

SO many wonderful thngs are happening in our lives right now that I want o scream from the rooftops! :)
But I guess instead of being sent away to the Happy Farm, I'll tell you all about them here!

On Jan 8 the wonderful girls in my life threw me a lingerie party/ dinner at Ajuuas Mexican restaraunt. IT was such a good time and so many of my wonderful friends came in for it! One of which I havent seen in YEARS! Im so blessed to know these wonderful women...here are some pictures!

My beautiful mom, sister and me.

My wonderful and beautiful friend Kendall!
The whole crowd!!
On Jan 16, I went to San Angelo with my parents for a dress fitting! My dress is now being altered, it had to be taken in in a few spots and hemmed at the bottom and the bustle. I can't WAIT to wear it, its so beautiful and perfect and Luke is going to pee his pants when he sees me in it! He thinks my drk jeans and a decent tshirt are dressed up! :) I'll post pics of it after March 19!

On Jan 22 I was given a wonderful Bridal Shower! Again, another example of how wonderful these women in my life are! The food was fantastic, the cake was amazing both in its beauty and flavor! (Red Velvet my FAV!) We got so many wonderful gifts to help us make our home better and OURS...Everything was fabulous! THanks to these lovely women

My beautiful hostesses, Kendall, Skye, me, Kellye, Angie and Tam

The wonderful cake! So beautiful and YUMMY!

Me and my mom and sister

Luke and I are still busy finalizing details for the wedding and we're so excited for it to be here.
March 19 couldnt get here soon enough, but we also know to cherish this time of planning and excitement and are doing our best to absorb and remember as much of it as possible.
We are mostly just so excited to be with our friends and family in one big setting and celebrate and laugh and become, well, married :) Not to mention we are so ready for our honeymoon to Ruidoso where we have put a deposit down on a little cabin up in the mountains by its self with no cell phone service!  (Talk about a way to unwind and relax after the stress of the final weeks before the wedding)

We are just reminded everyday how loved we are, and how much God has blessed us. We are both so thankful.

2010 Holiday season

Well the holidays have come and gone, a new year has begun, and a whole new chapter in my life is about to begin as well!
As I lay here on the couch, Luke is playing Donkey Kong on the Wii and I thought I would get everything uptodate on my blog, when I realized, in two short months Im going to have to change my blogs Name, because it will be a blog about the Ellis's :) hehe

So November started with Lukes birthday, which was pretty low key for us. Luke and I went to BEst Buy and he picked out a brand new laptop, which was his bday present, and I made him a chocolate chip cookie cake and chicken & stuffing dinner....THe next night the whole family went and ate at Clear springs.

Just 5 days later was Moms bday, in which time we went to On the Border and ate dinner, then went back to Mom and Dads and had Cake!
Here is a picture of mom hugging Dads neck on her bday ( he got her a new Dooney & Burke purse, which ahs become a bit of a tradition with them...)

Ok so Thanksgiving was at Skye's house this year, as tradition, and it was a great time. I however was unable to eat any of the wonderfully smelling food that had been so wonderfully prepared. I had been sick for over a week at that point and was unable to eat more than a few bites a time. I believe now it was a weird start to a BAD stomach bug Luke and i would have later, or maybe the flare up of a possible ulcer. At any rate Im now on nexium haha :)
HEre is a picture of the whole clan on Thanksgiving.
After THanksgiving Luke and I got a TERRIBLE stomach bug, and Im pretty sure it was a form of Shigellosis that was going around Midland, it lasted an entire week! So on top of my previous stomach sickness I lost around 17 lbs in about 3 weeks, and Luke hasnt weighed but Im pretty sure he lost 6-7 himself that week alone. We were pretty miserable there...BUT we're well now!

Between Thanksgiving and Christmas we spent a weekend with Lukes Dad and his family in Temple Texas! THey are such a fun bunch and I feel so blessed to have gotten to spend that time with them! I think they liked me alright too!! SO we had an early Christmas with them!

Luke took me and we picked out or very first Christmas tree and decorations this year and we put it up before Thanksgiving even!!! It was so beautiful!!
Before we knew it Christmas Day was here! Luke and I both went a little overboard shopping for one another probably but thats ok, we had fun doing it and to watch his little face light up is worth it to me!  :)
We had a wonderful first Christmas in our own home together! Then after we had breakfast here we went to Mom and Dads and had CHristmas there and stayed all day! It was such a wonderfully blessed day to celebrate Jesus Christs birthday! Lots of GREAT food, family, love and of course the spoiled rotten dogs! THey all got gifts from Santa too!

Last Christmas celebration for us was in Denton at Aunt Sandi's and Uncle Perrys house over New Years weekend. I will say, sadly, we're old fogies and hardly made it till Midnight. We toasted at 11:00 PM (midnight EST) and went back to the hotel. At Midnight CST we were laying in bed dozing off watching "THe 300" lol
Over all the holidays were, yet again, a wonderful time, full of amazing memories with the Family and with friends!!

In the meantime Luke and I are still planning the wedding! We're getting so close we're beginning to taste it! A little over 2 months to go! We can not WAIT to be husband and wife, begin this new chapter in our lives and just move on with the rest of our life! We're so incredibly blessed right now.
