Honeymoon!

I know I havent even blogged about the wedding yet but that is because I'm waiting on pictures so that I can include them! BUT I do have honeymoon pics so Im going to give you the dish on that!

Sunday after the wedding Luke and I got up (absolutely exhausted) and ate breakfast, packed and got on the road about 8:30 and headed to Ruidoso NM.
We arrived in Ruidoso around 2:30 and our cabin wasnt quite ready for us so we went in to Walmart to buy groceries and stuff that we needed. By the time we got back to the cabin (because Walmart had TWO checkers....thats IT) it was almost 5, and we decided sandiwiches were the best way to go for dinner. So we had sandwiches and beer on the patio as we watched dozens of deer meander by!

Lukes Alien Beer which is, btw, DISGUSTING

THe deck off of our cabin

Our sweet little cabin...LOVED it

First night in Ruidoso, so relaxing!

THe deer who greeted us our first afternoon

Monday we got up and decided to, after a good breakfast of eggs, bacon and King Cake ( hehe), go for a little drive, we found a historical drive through Lincoln County which talked about the Lincoln County Wars and Billy the kid. The wind was blowing really hard, but it was a really interesting little excursion!
Tuesday we went into town and shopped around, then decided to drive out to the Valley of FIres, which is a national park, in the middle of nowhere a 2,000 year old lava flow rock formation! Again the wind was blowing really hard and it was pretty darn cold, but it was a neat place that we'd like to visit again!

Wednesday was the first and last calm day of the week so that is the day we decided to go to White Sands National Monument! We got there it was almost 10:00 AM and they told us that they were shutting the park down at 10:50AM because the Air Force Base was doing a missile test and we couldnt be in the park during the test, But we had time to do the quick drive through, so we did that, then they kicked us out of the park. Well we decided to drive downt he highway a little bit and see if there was a roadside picnic area so we could eat the picnic lunch we'd brought along with us and maybe see the jets involved in the Missile tests. We didnt find one and decided to head BACK to the the Park visitor Center, well we had to go through the Border Patrol Check point....every care ahead of us is stopping, and Luke did NOT stop, the patrolmen started yelling "STOP!! STOP!!" and i thought, oh crap we're gonna get shot by a border patrolman in the middle of BFE New MExico 3 days after we get married...that'll make for a Newspaper Headline! :) But Luke stopped, the patrolman laughed his butt off at us and we went on through. Went back to the Visitor Center, waited for the park to re-open and when it did we went in, ate our picnic lunch and played in the sand for a while. Really is a cool place and definately want to go back there again!

Thursday we drove up the mountain, which was NOT Luke's favorite thing in the world as he is not a fan of heights, but even he could not deny the absolutely amazing views and beauty we got to see from 12,000 ft!!
Gorgeous! (again windy and chilly!)

Friday we packed up and checked out and headed home...We took a long route though because I wanted to go to the World's Largest Pistachio & winery!

Yes we bought pistachios AND Pomegranate wine ( which is WONDERFUL by the way!)
We also stopped at the worlds biggest RIP-OFF! THe UFO Museum and Research Center in Roswell NM....dont ever waste your money...its not even cheesy and stupid...its plain BORING and NIOTHING

But it was an awesome week!We had a great time, got comepletely recovered from the weeks of exhaustion leading up to the wedding. We're feeling very blessed and very very happy to be married and back to life!
